Meet Patty Kalmbach, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA

 

Dr. Kalmbach received her Doctorate Degree in Audiology from Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s School of Audiology in 2007. She received her Master of Science Degree in Audiology from Colorado State University in 1987. She completed her training at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, CA and at Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. Upon returning to Denver, she began a 17 year career working as a clinical Audiologist in the Neurodiagnostic Lab at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. While working in a hospital environment she was involved in Newborn hearing screenings, diagnostic testing and evaluation of those suffering from hearing loss, as well as performing a wide variety of Vestibular tests used in the diagnosis and treatment of balance problems.

After a lot of prayer and believing very passionately that patient’s can be helped with their hearing loss, tinnitus and Misophonia, she chose to venture out into a privately owned audiology practice. She is the owner of Colorado Tinnitus and Hearing Center which was established in 2005. She is passionate when working with her patient’s and is especially fond of working with the geriatric population. She is committed to exceptional customer service and is driven by the idea that life can be better for those who are suffering with hearing loss, tinnitus or misophonia.

Dr. Kalmbach is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), a Professional Gold member in the American Tinnitus Association (ATA) and is registered to practice Audiology in the State of Colorado (#083). Dr. Kalmbach is also a Fellow Member in the Tinnitus Practioner’s Association (TPA). Dr. Kalmbach is a member of The Misophonia Provider Network (www.misophonia-provider.com).

  • Dr. Kalmbach, Au.D. was thrilled to be invited to The Clinical Summit 2012 on the Widex Zen      Therapy  being held in Copenhagen, Denmark in September 2012. This meeting was made up of a select group of tinnitus professionals and experts from all over the world who met to learn about and discuss the background content of the Widex Zen Therapy (WZT) protocol.

  • May 1988- November 2005: Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, CO:  Extensive clinical experience in diagnostic identification of hearing loss in infants, children, adults and the elderly.  Administration and interpretation of Vestibular and Electrophysiological tests (ENG, EQT, Sinusoidal Harmonic Acceleration Testing, ECOG, OAE, ABR). Responsible for complete hearing aid services including selection, dispensing, and verification of conventional, programmable, and digital hearing aids. Provided inpatient and outpatient services, newborn hearing screenings, ototoxic monitoring, as well as conducting numerous community seminars.
  • June 2001-April 2003: Colorado Department of Health, Handicapped Children’s Program (HCP), Regional Audiology Coordinator for Jefferson County, Denver, and Broomfield.  Evaluation and assessment of audiometric data of Newborn Hearing Programs at seven local hospitals, handled issues of compliance for state mandate.

Dr. Kalmbach has been married to the love of her life (Ed) for 32 years. They are blessed to be the parents of two extraordinary adult sons named Joshua and Ryan. She is passionate about being involved in their lives and feels very fortunate to be called mom. She loves spending time with her family, cooking and traveling.
