These evaluations are performed by our licensed and nationally certified Doctors of Audiology to determine the nature, cause and extent of your hearing loss. The diagnostic hearing evaluation is comprised of a variety of tests. Your test results will provide your audiologist with guidance in making appropriate treatment recommendations. Some types of hearing loss can be treated medically or surgically, so it is important to rule those out before hearing aids are recommended. Be sure to tell your audiologist about all of your symptoms, including tinnitus or balance issues.

Colorado Tinnitus and Hearing Center uses a combination of advanced procedures and state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and treat patients who are experiencing hearing loss, tinnitus or sound sensitivity. You will be treated by certified, licensed audiologists whose education, experience and ethical professional standards set them apart.

Using a sensitive microphone placed in the ear, echoes produced by the tiny nerve endings in the inner ear are measured. This test is used to determine outer hair cell function in the inner ear.

Colorado Tinnitus and Hearing Center, Inc. has a hearing monitoring program for individuals who are required to take medicines that may be toxic to your hearing. Testing procedures are similar to those used for diagnostic audiological evaluation.

For this test procedure, the patient is asked to listen to a series of very soft beeps while wearing headphones. This test evaluates how well the parts of the ear work together to hear.

Do you find yourself straining to hear, even with hearing aids? Cochlear implant evaluations will determine if you could benefit from a cochlear implant. If implantation is the best option, your provider will work with you to optimize your device for your specific hearing needs through a process called mapping.
